XP boot

I am building my first computer. I have four HDD's two will be set in a raid 0. I would like to use one just just to boot windows XP and the last one for applications. is it poossible to take just the boot part of windows and have it on one HDD (the boot drive) and have the rest of Windows on the applications drive?

thank you Brad

Gussing you know how dangerous Raid 0 can be...One drive or the controller go bad and you lose ALL files...

But once the Raid is setup. you can partition it just like you would with one drive.

You can install applications in whatever drive you want. You can place the windows swap file in whatever drive you want, you can even place your my documents folders on whatever drive you want.

The Windows applications will stay on the boot drive but you can put all other programs on any drive or partition you want.

HERE is a guide for moving your documents folder to another drive.

EzyStvy,

I know the risks with the Raid 0. I have been very lucky in the past and hope it does not run out this time. I will not have anything on the drive that cant be replaced or will not be backed up.

Dlikios, and Hi Ho,

thank you for your help and Hi Ho thank you for the link

Brad
