Re-imaging a lab environment
I have the opportunity to re-create a lab environment from the ground up (woo). One thing I would like to impliment is a system to re-image the lab. I've seen a few different ways to accomplish this and was wondering what your idea of an ideal setup would be.
In the past, I've worked with older versions of Symantec Ghost and Symantec Ghost Multicast Server, as well as seen CenturionGuard set up in a lab environment. Are there better alternatives you've seen in place, or would you consider one of these solutions best? Thanks

Windows Home Server
![]() The lab machines can update the image sitting on the server at time/intervals you select. If a machine dies - you pop in a new drive - boot off the special cd and it connets to the server and grabs the image... The WHS machine can be any ol machine as long as it can hold enough drive space to equal the lab machines.

^ Hmm may have to check that out.
I would personally use Ghost and Multicast server for the images. I have done it for work in a couple school labs, and it worked without a hitch. Nothing but good things to say about Ghost. |
