Hardware change with XP

If I change the motherboard, CPU and video card is there a way to use the same installation of Windows XP?

Is it possible to update the HAL somehow without screwing things up totally? I have heard it can be done but don't know the details

Are you talking about suing the same xp but starting with a fresh install, or just moving the hard drive over to the new mother board with the new video card?

You were probably using standard drivers for most of you hardware, particulary the SATA controller.
