DirectX 10

I plan to buy new AGP video (ATI or Nvidia), but I looked on the video card's Spec, it will be using DirectX 10. My OS right now is Windows XP Pro SP 2 and DirectX 9c. Do you guys think DirectX 10 compatible with Win XP pro SP2? I heard ATI 3850 will use DirectX 10 not DirectX 9.

My PC's Spec:
Asus A8V
AMD 4400+ 2.2 Ghz (overclocked to 2.4 Ghz)
4 x 512 MB PC3500 RAM DDR
BFG 7800 GS OC 256 MB DDR3 (I overclocked to 490 Mhz)

Recently, I play BF2, BF2142, CS, FS2004, FSX, GP4, F4:Allied Force, GunShip and The Sims 2 (The last game I mentioned was my wife's game)

Thanks

The only way you will be able to take advantage of DX10 is to get Vista. DX10 isn't supported under XP.

Thanks man for the reply. I was thinking to get Vista, but I want to keep my current system. I will buy video which is compatible with DirectX 9.

DX10 vid cards work just fine in XP, and are typically faster than their DX9 counterparts.

What you tried to say was it was OK to install DX10 vid cards even though I had XP on my PC. Interesting.
