Thanks for the help on the install of win98 people . Its working great now, except every time I close down I get a Msgsrv32 error. Ive checked up and tried installing the latest drivers for my soundblaster 16 card but its still happening

Open control panel, sounds, and change the sound scheme. There can be other issues (an error message that can't display properly will cause this), but start with the shutdown sound...

Reboot has a great, the exit sound can cause issues...here's some other ideas (try these separately)...

-Go into control panel and kill the exit Windows sound completely

-End task on all programs except "Systray" and "Explorer"

-Go into MSCONFIG and disable fast shutdown (if you haven't implemented the Win 98 fast shutdown supplement)

Here's an idea of what msgsrc32.exe does:

Good luck
