Can I use another copy of Windows XP?
I have a copy of Windows XP Professional activated to a computer I have.
I need to reinstall Windows XP Professional on that computer but I cannot find the Windows XP CD anywhere. I have another copy of Windows XP Professional which is activated to another PC I have. Can I install Windows XP (using the disc I have) on the first PC and change the product key to the disc that is missing - then re-activate it? Hope that made sense! TIA.

I believe you can. Just as long as you are using different activation keys, it should work.
Only problem would be if it's an oem from a brand named computer like dell.

I still have the product key of the CD that is MIA. I was going to install Windows XP using another disc, change the product key on the PC to the disc that is missing, connect to the internet and then re-activate. |

You may use *ANY* CD as long as it's the same version, you must use the intended product key.
