I just recently built a new system, and it's running Ubuntu. I don't mind Ubuntu, I'm just used to XP and would prefer to use it. I'm having a delima though, I'm on a bit of a budget and am trying to decide which version of XP would be best for me.
I'm a regular user, I game but not every day, I don't overclock, mainly I just do graphic design and standard computing. Someone told me to go with XP pro, but couldn't justify why other than it said "pro". Another person told me to go with Media Center, but I'm nervous about all the extra crap that comes with it. Home has always worked for me, but I'd like to know if PRO or MCE are actually faster and more stable? Thanks much, hopefully I've given enough information for folks to give a good response, if not just ask Dan H. |

There is no real reason not to get Home. I have MCE, but only because it was on promo and actually cheaper than Home at the time. There is a little extra bloatware, but it is still just as fast...basically a prettier Home version.

Another thing: if I go with Home will it still have the same update support as Pro does? |

I read about what it has on the comparison guide, and I honestly don't see myself using any of the Pro features... but is it more stable or anything like that? |
