windows 2000 help

I have a computer i just recieved from a friend and when it goes to boot up i get the message that the NTLDR is missing so it can't start up. I was wondering how i can fix this. The OS is windows 2000. What is the easiest way to fix it. Can i just try a repair install with the original windows 2000 disk, or is there another way in case they can't find the cd.

Thanks for all the help

Ben

That's the best and easiest way.

Depends what the cause of the problem is. I'd run hard drive diags before you dig in any deeper.
