Changing defaults in file folders settings

I'm running XP Pro SP2. I do a lot of video editing and when I open a file with clips in it, under View it lists Thumbnails, Tiles, Icons, Lists and Details, but defaults to Icons. Is there a way to reconfigure this to Thumbnails so I don't have to change it each an every time ? Would make everything so much easier. Thanks.

Try right clicking the folder it's in and look under properties.

(I'm assuming. I'm running Vista over here.)

Folder Options, View. Check "remember each folder's view settings".
