Desktop Background Disabled?
I have a dell 1.7ghz, w/XP Home Edition. When logging on my desktop wallpaper flashes during startup then when fully started I get only a blue screen. I tried to make changes in desktop properties but the background window seems to be disabled because th window is actually gray not allowing me to make changes. I ran spybot and got nothing. Any suggestions on the cause?

This is almost always caused by a virus or spyware. Throw some other scanners at it.
