faxing with XP home edition
I searched and found a thread on doing this but it didn't address the problem I'm having. I need to set fax up and, following the directions it gives doesn't work. It says it needs this file.
fxscfgwz.dll Its says to put the install disc in and I do but it still can't find the file. I try to search the disc using find files and folders but it doesn't find it. It isn't searching hidden files on the disc though could it be there? If so, how do I get it to search hidden files?

No I haven't but I'll check it out now.
After checking out the MS web link it didn't help. I know how to start the process. The problem is that as soon as it starts to install I get the message that the file I listed above is needed and to insert the Windows Home Edition disc and hit ok. It can't find the file on the disc and I can't find it on the disc either. Microsoft doesn't give much help on the matter. In other words, Windows Component Wizard can't find a needed file. It's a DLL file. Last edited by suitcase; 02-08-2008 at 04:54 PM. |

Place your cd in drive click arrow that says "Perform additional tasks", then click "Browse CD". You should then find folder i386, click on folder to open and see if fxscfgwz.dll file is there. If it's there copy it to c:\windows\system32. If you can't find it then download file from here http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dl...shtml?fxscfgwz and place it in c:\windows\system32.
