Prefetch problem

I'm trying to turn prefetch on again.

I've been reading that it's not a good idea to turn it off. Slows down your pc.

Anyway I followed these instructions and I checked the prefetch folder in window folder and it's always empty.

Can you help?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory
Management\PrefetchParameters]
"EnablePrefetcher"=dword:00000000

if DWORD is set to '0' prefetch is OFF and '1' & '2' are for enabling
prefetching. After setting the value to '0' you have to restart ur computer
and prefetch folder will be empty from now on & if you have good
configuration no prefetcthing of apps is necessary.

Change that DWORD value to 3, which is XP default. Yours is still off, that's what 0 means.
