Too many Processes?
So today I decided to clean up my computer a bit. My computer is 4 years old, and I'm looking to just improve on some things. While searching through the computer I noticed I had 56 proccesses running and my cpu usage was up in the 90's. How might I go about stopping some of these processes from starting up and probaly more importantly, how do i find out which ones i need. Also, is there a way to stop them from being on my computer all together if I do not need them. Thanks!

First thing to do would be uninstall any programs you don't need.
Next go to run, and type in: msconfig Go to the start up tab, and deselect anything that you don't want to start up with your computer. Get www.ccleaner.com and let it clean out everything for you too. After uninstalling programs, I like to use ccleaner to finish cleaning the registry. It gets a lot of leftovers. EDIT: Check this out for services: http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm
