Computer restarts as XP starts to load.
I have an HP Presario 753n desktop that cannot get into Windows.
The computer POSTs, starts to load Windows from the Hard Drive as it is supposed to. The screen turns black for about two seconds and then it reboots and repeats the proccess with no errors reported. I've tried Safe Mode and every other option under the start-up options menu with the same result.
Unfortunately no one knows if there was something installed (programs, updates, etc.) or changed immediately before this happened, but Automatic Updates was turned on. I am leaning towards the idea that some update caused this problem, but not sure really.
I tried HPs website that says there is a Recovery Console option when pressing F8, but there is none... just the standard start-up options.
Any thoughts?
TIA, dave.
