XP not recognizing drives
After setting up RAID 1 for my drives, I was trying to load XP onto a new build and not far into the installation process, I got a message that basically said there may be a problem with my drives accompanied by a rather sizeable error code that I did not copy down. My intention was to set up a dual boot computer for XP and Vista but I ended up loading just Vista and everything seemed to work well...so I know the problem is not the drives themselves. I do understand that if I want to install XP and Vista that I will need to go back and delete Vista and then install XP first.
Specs: Hard Drives: (2)1Tb Seagate Barracuda drives in RAID 1 OS: Windows XP Professional with SP2, Vista Home Premium Mobo: EVGA 132-CK-NF78_A1 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...132-CK-NF78-A1 RAM: 4 Gigs of OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC DDR2 Memory, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...FlexXLC%2bDDR2 CPU: Intel E2180, 2.0 GHz dual core, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...tel-_-19116052 PSU: Cooler Master 1250W, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817171029 What might I try to get XP to recognize my drives? Minor point, motherboard is not recognizing that my system bus speed is supposed to be at 1150 and not 750 where it is now. It is supposed to do this automatically with this type of RAM and board but I get a popup message that said this is not supported. When in the mobo's specs the system bus speed is supposed to support up to 1200mHz. I'm not really concerned about that right now though. Thanks

Error codes are like key codes to the solution
![]() There's a good chance XP needed you to do the F6 option and pop in a floppy disk with the SATA drivers....
