Xp Sp3 Rc2

Well once agian I try to download and install this, but this time it was offered right from windows update.. Once again after installing and rebooting, my machine goes into ramdom reboots, and I can't even get in via safe mode to uninstall.. Has anyone had this issue and how did you fix it..Thanks

Why are you even trying to install a release candidate? One should never install anything other than a final release on a machine that they are not prepared to wipe and start from scratch on.

The only reason why was because when I went to ms update it said to protect your computer we recommend you download and install SP3 RC

It shouldnt have happened by itself. Are you sure you hadn't installed a registry hack to enable your computer to "see" SP3's RC2 is by installing that key - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en has it.

Positive. Just went up to ms to look for updates and that is the first thing it said..

Just ran Windows Update and doesn't show anything about SP3.
