Unhappy New Error Messages... Please Help!

Evening all!

I am basically crying out for help as my new build has started to throw a wobbley every now and then....

When I'm starting the system, it sometimes gets to my desktop and then shows me the BSOD...

Ther error message 'Page_Fault_In_Nonpage_Area and the codes it show are:

0x00000004
0xB6B6A038
0x0000001C
0x00000001
0x80502CBC

It has also started to sometimes disconnect from the internet and needs to be rebooted to get another connection (throws an error 10).... Also says somthing about a 'rdbss.sys'?....

Any help in helping me solve this issue will be greatly appreciated!

Ryan

Please list make and model of all parts, including power supply.

Just off the bat, I would say run memtest. http://www.memtest.org/

Ok. first thing I would do is run memtest. Let me know what that says.

EDIT: I think you can run it from a usb flash drive. Let me check.

EDIT 2: They have the file to use for a usb flash drive. You can try that. I haven't, I alway use a cd, but it's an option for you.

In the mean time, you can try to see if you use just 2 sticks of memory if you still get the errors, or even with just one.

Also, remove the tv tuner for now.

Ok, will try that...

Do you think it could be the TV tuner? I only installed it the other day...

Were you having problems before you installed it?

It used to come up with:

error: page_fault_in_nonpage_area

0x000000030 (0xB648A138, 0x00000000, 0x8052B8D0, 0x00000000)

But it has changed since I installed the extra 2gb of RAM and TV tuner to the error codes at the beginning of this thread...

I definately think it's your ram. Try just one stick at a time, and see if that helps.

I hope not, it's all brand new Corsair DDR2........... What shall I do if it does end up being the RAM? Can I send it back to Corsair and get a refund or a new stick?!

Corsair should give you a rma number to send it back to them and they should replace it.

Well I ran Memtest_86 all last night (about 8 hours) and no errors were identified with my RAM so I was a little stumped...

Finished work today and decided to install a floop drive in my new system. Went onto Gigabytes website and downloaded their latest BIOS (FG). I ran Q-Flash and loaded the new BIOS...... Computer now starts up fine!!!

No BSOD and no error message when turning the computer off...

Must had been a corrupted BIOS already installed on the board?

Anyway, many thanks for your pointers... I'm a happy chappy now
