XP PRO Freezes On Boot (XP Logo)
Hi there,
I recently built a computer, and everything has been going fine, but now it freezes on boot! it lasts a couple of seconds with the scrolly bar and the xp logo, and it just freezes. I cannot start in any of the safe modes! PC Specs: ECS 651-M Mobo 768MB Ram (512 & 256) 40GB Hard Drive Windows XP Pro dvd rw 370 Watt PSU 1.7GHz CPU If anyone can help me shed some light to why this is happening to my computer, I would greatly appreciate it  Thanks,

One of the first things I do is unplug all external devices (printers, scanners, card readers, etc.) and remove any removable media (CD/DVD disks) and give it a try. If that doesn't"fix" things, then see if you can get into Safe Mode.

Eliminate the software issues first! maybe you could try to boot from you xp cd if you have one.If that gets you past the scroller you would know it's not hardware.

Hi,
Thanks for your replys! Just one question, how do I boot from the XP CD to get into Win XP, If I boot from my XP CD, it just takes me to the re-installation and recovery of Windows XP :S. Thanks,
