I have a Server 2003 machine on a network with XP Home machines. All desktops are in the same workgroup and the computer names are sequential (i.e. Desktop1, Desktop2, Desktop3 etc...) and each Desktop has the same user of Service. The problem i am having is that on the server I want to create a root folder that is shared out with Read Access to Everyone. Each sub-folder would have its own permission to allow for certain users to create/modify anything in that sub folder.
What I did so far was to make a user then add them to the security permission for the subfolder. When i mapped the network drive to the root folder I clicked "connect with different user name" and used Server\User. The problem I am running into is that when i browse to the sub-folder I can no add/change files to that subfolder. Anyone have a solution for me? |
