mapped drives

I have several computers that are losing there mapped drives, this is because I'm sure they are crossing domains, server is on one domain and the users are on another, do I need to add each user to every computer/server they want to map drives from or can I just do it to the directory server?
these are winxp pro users and the servers are server 2003, one may even be server 2k

Why not write a batch file and attach to the user account. Drives will be mapped everytime they logged on a computer.
