windows time service as server
I need to run an NTP server in windows xp. I found a registry guide that said to add a certain reg entry to enable the windows time service to act as a server.
This worked on one system, but not on others. Any ideas? heres the reg entry i added: http://www.pctools.com/guides/registry/detail/1117/ |

i appear to have found the problem.
the differenc ebetween the computers that worked and teh computer that didnt was daomin mebership. the computers that work are members of a domain and contain the regsitry entry called "Type" with the value NT5DS. Adding this entry on the non domain computers appears to fix the problem. But I wont kow for sure until I check the otheres tomorrow. |
