greedo My pictures

I had a new HD installed, the 'Display Properties/Desktop' had all the pictures on my computer in it.
I know that the only pictures that should be in 'Display Properties/Desktop' are located in C:\WINDOWS\Web Folder named 'Wallpaper'
At the time I had, in 'My Documents', a folder to put my pictures in. This folder was named 'My Pictures'
There was also a folder at C:\ named 'My Pictures'

After renewing the HD and before installing 'My Documents', which were stored in a back up drive, I renamed 'My Pictures'
to 'My Photos' but found that when I searched 'My Documents' I still had the folder 'My Pictures' in 'My Documents' and the folder was empty.

At present I have a Folder named 'My Pictures' at C:\ ( Empty)
A Folder named 'My Documents\My Pictures' ( Empty )
A 'My Photos' folder in 'My Documents' containing all my photos,
The 'Display Properties/Desktop' has only the pictures from the folder C:WINDOWS\Web.\Wallpaper
When I copied a photo from 'My Photos' and pasted it into 'My Documents\My Pictures' , it appears in 'Display Properties/Desktop'

If I were to do this with all the pictures in 'My Photos' they would be placed into 'Display Properties/Desktop'
I looked up : 'Basic Windows File Management'
http://www.pcmech.com/article/basic-...le-management/
But am still no wiser as to;
Should there be anything in 'My Pictures' at C:\ . If so, what?
Should I have the folder 'My Pictures' in 'My Documents' ?
Is it OK to store all my Pictures in 'My Documents\My Photos'
Why does a picture I copy from 'My Documents\My Photos' to the empty folder at 'My Documents\My Pictures'
automatically go into 'Display Properties/Desktop'?.

Those are all basically up to you and how you want to organize your pictures.

I personally have done both where I would have my pictures in a folder inside of my documents, and I have also done it where I would have a seperate folder under C: called my pictures. It just depended on how I chose to organize.

As for seeing the pictures in display properties, I would usually just browse for a picture I wanted as a background and tell windows to look in my picture folder. I don't like having multiple copies of files.
