Reinstalling Windows

Somehow today a trojan got through my antivirus, which somehow led to me getting a ton of spyware (somewhere in the thousands). It's gotten to the point where I can't even run any anti-spyware programs or virus checks because so many things pop-up. I can't restore to an earlier point either. So I was planning on reinstalling windows since I don't have very much data on my computer right now and really none of it is important. I've never reinstalled windows before but I do have the disc to do so. So I was wondering what exactly I should do. I have Windows XP 2005 Media Center Edition. Thank you.

Try looking here: http://www.windowsreinstall.com/indexwinxp.htm

Basically, you'll just save any important files you want to keep and put the on a cd, or different hard drive, or a usb flash drive.

From there restart the computer and make sure it's set to boot from the cd first in bios. Make sure your windows cd is in the drive.

From there it should all be simple to follow along to. Just choose the hard drive you want it on, and it should delete the old copy and reinstall everything new.
