BSOD 0x0000007b after reinstalling os several times

I have a SATA hard drive which has xp pro x64 (server 03 i think) and half way through loading it, i get a BSOD with the following codes:

*** stop: 0x0000007B (0xf78A2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

i believe that the 0x07B means there is a problem with raid/scsi/ide/sata drivers so when i put my os disk in and pressed f6 then S it says "please insert the disk labelled manufactur supplied support disk into drive A: and press enter." i put one of my raid driver floppies into drive A:, and pressed enter, but the exact same screen comes up after a few seconds.

(the HDD is attached to my pc via a usb adapter thingy because my os disk doesn't think its there when plugged in normaly)

i have also tried using other HDDs to boot from, one woth 2000 pro, and one with xp home and i tried to intsall xp home w/ a disk but i still get the same or a simaler BSOD.

the last thing i tried was ~ i made an ubuntu disk wich i was able to bstart once, but all other times it thinks i don't have a screen. i also made a disk with bartpe on it which i am able to start w/o any problems but i cant really do much in it.

if anyone can help me - it would be really nice - so thnx if you can

if it helps:

intel B975XBX2 mobo
WD rapter x 10,000 rpm 150 gb HHD
corsair 750 watt psu
intel p4 3.4 ghz processor
Gskill 2x2gb ddr2 800 ram
phillips 20x cd/dvd writer
old floppy drive
cooler master mystique case
evga 9800 gx2 video card

thanks again if anyone can help

To use the USB floppy drive, probably need to enable it in the BIOS. Same may be true to use a regular floppy drive.

well, i did a bios recovery and took out the cmos battery for half an hour hoping it would do something but still same problem.

flanzig1, i think you got it mixed up - the hard drive is on a usb adapter, and the floppy drive is connected w/ normal floppy connector to the mobo. I did make sure that the usb hard drive is configured properly, same w/ the floppy drive.

You cannot install XP on a drive connected through USB using a driver floppy for the Intel ICH. You need to connect the hard drive to an internal SATA connector.
