maping network drives
I should know how to do this, but I'm ashamed to admit I can't figure it out.
have 2 p/c's both XP PRO SP2 old pc is named"ARM" { D865GBF } using this as file server since it has 2 IDE ports Primary C: Windows system ( shared folder is set up and accessable) F: blank 4 gig drive Secondary D: DVD E: 250 MB Zip drive new p/c is D975XBX named "Gandalf" From Gandalf I can get to the shared folder on ARM's system drive {C:} with no problems. how do I get to D: E: & F: drives for direct read/writes? I feel really dumb for having to ask |

yes, I've shared all 3 drives; now the only one I'm still having trouble with is the DVD drive. I can't get media player to play any music cd's in the D: drive of ARM. if I locally copy the cd to the F: drive , I can then remote access the IDE drive and then play the copied tracks. whats messing my brain now is, I have another disk with Power Point files on it. and I can pull those up directly from the DVD drive using Open Office? |
