iTunes not running on my Windows XP
I just got Windows XP x64 and got it on my other hard drive, but I'm having issues with iTunes on it. iTunes doesn't want to run on Windows XP x64. Whenever I go to install it, it tells me that there's a 64-bit version of iTunes, but when I go to look for the 64-bit version of it, I end up only being able to find the 32-bit version and I get a warning about it and post-install it gives me an error saying I need Quicktime for it. Well, I did that and I'm still getting the error. Can anyboday help with this please? I'm excited about the speed difference between the 32- and 64-bit OS's (which I've found is very noticeable). Thanks.

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Here it says either 32 bit xp or vista, or vista 64 bit. I don't see anything about xp64 either. You might want to try a different program instead of itunes. I don't use it, and have never found the need to.

iTunes for XP 64-bit isn't supported (and by all appearances, never will be). Vista 64-bit, however, is.
Supposedly, the file here works under XP 64-bit, but I can't vouch for it, so install at your own risk: http://www.planetamd64.com/index.php...1&#entry327771

Is there another program that'll work on WinXP64 that works as iTunes does for the iPod?

What do you use itunes for?
Playing your music, or organizing it? |

I listen to podcasts, listen to CD stuff on it... and a little organization.

Might want to look at winamp.
I switched to jetaudio myself, and use it to listen to music, and watch movies. I don't do podcasts, and I don't use a dedicated program to organize, so I can't vouch for those abilities, but you can check them out. Also, I think WMP would also serve those purposes. |
