is there any software that can emulate a computer as a router?

Need a bit more detail on your intentions to give you a better response. However, If I assume you mean adding multiple NIC cards to an old PC, check out Smoothwall and Monowall. They are firewall-like OSs.

Alaron, thanks for your reply. My Intention is to create a Ghost server in which when a computer connected to my laptop(which host all the ghost image) nic card. The other computer can grab the image from my laptop image share to perform the ghosting. Is it possible to emulate my latop (as a dhcp server so whichever a computer connect to my laptop nic card, they can grab the image from my laptop image share folder).

The new OS called Windows Home Server was designed to do what you're wanting...
It'll let you backup/create an image of any pc you plug into your network. Should the hard drive die, you replace the drive - boot off a special cd and connect to the Home Server and grab the image.
