Idlist Error

Hello all,

Have an interesting problem. Turned on the ole 'puter' and when finished booting THe icons on the desktop disappeared and only the wallpaper for the desktop remained. A popup box appeared saying '/Idlist,:0:2532\C: could not be found. I use a hidden task bar and that would not pop up. Cusor is active.

To get anywhere I pulled up the task manager (ctrl,alt, and del) and under applications, clicked on the 'New Task' button and typed 'desktop' and got the icons back for a few seconds (10) and was able to access the internet. The same message appears when going through the task manager with the icons being on the desk top for about 10 seconds.

While the icons are displayed on the desktop, windows explorer is accessable ut whin the icons leave the desktop, so does the popup expolorer window.

Scan for viruses, clean disk, chkdsk and defragmentaion all done and problem still exists.

Any ideas as to this problem.
