Idling error

I sometimes leave my computer on overnight for downloading things (via torrent). However, when I go on it the next day, the download has stopped, (with utorrent in the system tray) and when I try to bring the window up, nothing happens. Then, if I try to run a program, (any program) it gives me an error (something like 0x000000 things) and doesn't start. If I go into the start menu, (which works) and click, "turn off computer", Nothing pops up. I have to either reset it or do a hard shutdown.

Try coping down the exact stop code. That could help us figure out what is wrong.

In the mean time, I would do some scans with an anti-virus, an anti-spyware programs.

I use Avast antivirus.

And for anti-spyware, I use spybot and avg anti-spyware, which is now combined with there anti-virus. I've also heard good about SuperAntiSpyware.

I use Avast as well. I'll give spybot and avg a try though, thanks.
