Yes. It is one of the easiest methods of networking two machines.

Just pick a name for each laptop and run the network setup wizard on each machine, run them one at a time, it takes no more than a few minutes.
What OS is on each laptop?

I got a some ghost image in one laptop. My purpose is it possible to connect any other laptop(that need to be restore) via crossover cable. Put a ghost boot disc on the laptop(that need to be restore) and pull off the image from the laptop (which host the ghost image file). Is it possible to do this?

It might be possible to boot from something like Acronis and access the image on the other machine via the network, but to be honest I dont know of any imaging software that has networking capabilities.
I have never tried it, I always restore the image from a fixed harddrive or CD/DVD.
The only network imaging that I know of, is to do it via whats known as a "technicians machine". The software on a technicians machine has the ability to install an OS across a network, it is usually used by system builders when building multiple systems all with the same OS and hardware setup, they can install company logo's and branding at the same time.

If i use Ghost, do you think is possible to connect to the laptop drive with ghost image on it. You mention about the "technician machine." What type of software is needed to install OS across a network.

Thanks for your reply. If I host the ghost image file from my laptop, and I use a crossover cable to connect another computer lan port to my laptop (which host the ghost image) lan port. Would I be able to create a ghost boot disc to map the share drive from my laptop and restore the computer?

You need a Ghost bootdisk that has the correct network adapter drivers and configuration files to do what you want. Honestly, it's a lot easier to use an external hard drive to reimage a laptop.

I don't know, but Acronis True Image does, so I *assume* Ghost should. I don't use Ghost and probably never will.
