Transfer XP pro

I bought XP pro awhile back for my laptop and I was wondering how do I deactivate the one and transfer it to another laptop if I wanted to? Do I have to call MS? or does this mean I would have to buy XP pro all over again?

If it's a retail copy you can just wipe it from the computer it's currently on and install it on the new laptop and reactivate. If it came with the laptop(OEM XP) then the license does not allow for it to be transfered.

But when you activate it on the new laptop you may have to call ms, because the license will be tied to the hardware of your other laptop..

If it hasn't gone through an activation in the past 120 days, it will activate online. If not, you will have to call M$.
