I have a Dell laptop with XP MCE on it. I've manually made a shortcut to a website my kids frequent. It gives it a Firefox icon by default. When I go to change the icon through its properties, the change to a new icon shows in the properties preview. Once I hit OK, the icon reverts to an IE page icon for some reason. Is there some reason anyone can think of that would cause this to happen?

Seems it's something MS has done by default.
Maybe try this. http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article04-405
