Application
I've read in one of the threads that I can speed up my PC by doing something to the application. Can anyone elaborate on what this meant. Also, Do the icons on my Desktop and my Secondary Desktop programs that are running all the time? Do these programs cause some delay?

1) It depends on the application in question and what it does. Some allow performance tweaking, some don't
2) I have not noticed that by having items on your desktop, it impacts performance. However, several icons (ie, more than a dozen), and using your desktop as a storage bin will increase boot time a little bit. 3) When you have programs open and running, yes, they will take up resources. However, it depends on what they are doing. If they're doing nothing, they'll at least be taking up some RAM. If you have a respectable amount of RAM (1GB or more), you usually don't have to worry about it all that much unless you have a lot of applications doing a lot of things at the same time As you can see, there are a number of conditions here. Some affect performance a lot, some not so much. Can you be more specific?
