Windows Media Player 11 Crashes every time on startup

WMP11 crashes within 2 seconds of starting, whether opening a file or opening it directly.

I have reverted back to WMP10 and back up to 11, to no avail.

I haven't been able to find a way to delete the items that were in the library the first time around, and it seems that when you revert to an older version, library and preference information is not deleted, so the whole process of rolling back and going back to WMP11 may have done nothing.

I could post the error report if that would be helpful, but it is massive, so I will hold off on that for now.

When you reverted back to wmp 10, did you still have the problems?

Did this problem start after you install sp3?

What changes have you made around the time this started?

WMP10 opened fine, and played a video fine without crashing.

The problem existed under SP2.

I believe it started happening around the time I was trying to set up media sharing with my xbox 360. I am setting up a new network in my house and want to retry the media sharing, which only works with WMP11, I believe.
