After Virus/Spyware, cannot see C: drive in My Computer

Hello everyone,

I just spent some time removing some nasty spyware and viruses from a friends machine and I think I have everything out but I have one last problem: When I open My Computer or Windows Explorer, the C: drive is not a choice to view. The Documents folder, A:, and E: (cd) links are all there but not C:.

I can navigate to the drive contents manually by putting "C:" in the address bar but I can't get the link to show up again.

Everything else seems to be working normally and I've run Spybot, AVG, and Hijackthis a number of times to get it clean. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'd download and install TweakUI, then look in the My Computer tab. "C" might not be checked.

Thanks glc!

As you suspected, TweakUI showed that the C: drive and also the D: drive (for removable USB drives) were not checked. Two clicks and I was back in business.

Thanks again.
