Computer times out

Hello. I'm trying to download something and after a few minutes a computer timed out window pops up. I found a site which tells me how to change my registry to allow more time, but, what it says does not correspond to what my registry says, so, I'm searching for a solution. Can you help? I have no other pc problems.

I have XP, IE 7.
1000mb RAM
