not updating

reformatted my laptop and windows tries to auto update. but the following is received as an error that they will not update.

Download the network admin install for SP2, install it, then try running Windows Update again. Do *NOT* install SP3 unless SP2 is already installed and Windows Update has been updated and tested. If SP3 is already installed, uninstall it then try Windows Update.
