IRQL Not Less or Equal Error

I just did a new build with an Intel E8400 CPU, Intel DP35D motherboard and a DW WD2500YS HDD. I had some issues getting the system to recognize the HDD, but with some help I have gotten past that issue. I finally got to the point where I could load Windows XP Home. Everything seemed to be going fine until XP started to install devices - half way through the process I got the blue screen of death and an IRQL message. The tech info stated: 0x00000002, (0x000000010, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x8051AA58). Any ideas on what would cause this?

Usually a RAM problem. Run memtest on the memory.

My memory (and drivers, another possible cause...but not for you since you're just starting the initial install) checked out...but I still get this BSOD every once in awhile...but only when I'm downloading and using a lot of CPU power (folding) at the same time. I suspect my wireless adapter.

I would grab this version Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip), extract it so you get the .iso (image) file, burn it to CD - make sure you burn it as an image file, and boot from CD (check BIOS is set to boot from CD first), it should run automatically - at least it did last time I used it.

All that's saying is you need a XP CD with at least SP2 for a successful install. Yes, the advanced controllers do need that.
