Windows XP active window help
My active windows on my desktop in windows xp and my start menu are to big and I can not figure out how to adjust the size. When I have an active window open everything will not fit on the screen even if I adjust the window to the maximum size. What should I do to fix this?

Try decreasing your font size - sounds like you are using large fonts.

I have tried that but it does not seem to help the problem. When I open a program and it fills the whole computer screen I can not see everything that is in the window. I can't even move the window borders out any more to see what is in there. I can't figure out how to fix this and I really need to fix this, because I can't see everything.

What are you using for a monitor and what screen resolution are you using?

I am using a KDS monitor and the resolution is 800 by 600 pixels.

I think it is a RAD-9.

If it's a RAD-9 the native resolution is 1280x1024. If you MUST run lower resolutions (not recommended), you need to use the on screen menus to auto tune it.

I changed it to what you have recommended, but now everything is so small. The icons and the fonts. How do I make them bigger? My firefox browser is real small also.

If you have vision issues, you may need to get a pair of eyeglasses. The Internet and a lot of other apps these days are just not low resolution friendly. I am farsighted in my old age, and I have no problem at 1280x1024 on my 19" LCD with my $10 Walmart reading glasses. It's just something you have to get used to, or deal with the problems that low res gives you.

I needed to do some tweaking to get everything to look right. I don't know much about monitor resolutions and am just learning about them.
