Installing XP Pro over W2K
A buddy has a AMD XP2000 cpu system w/1.5g ram on an Asus board. He bought the oem XP cd from mwave and wants me to upgrade his current W2K OS. The current OS works fine. The only reason he's upgrading is that some of the new business software he bought (Quickbooks, etc) will not install on W2K. My question is, what's the quickest and easiest way to install XP over the top of W2K (if that's even a good idea) with the least amount of hassles?
I would normally format the hd and do a fresh install but time is limited as I don't want to have to re-install his many programs. TIA

Try putting the CD in when in Windows and see if it offers you an upgrade option.

Yes. That or try an Upgrade version of XP.
