Weird install

I changed out the case and hard drive on my computer to start with a fresh install of windows xp(old hd failed) and a flashy new look. I put the xp cd in and after i hit boot from cd it took ages to start the blue screen process of the install( 10 min). I then got through the next step after leaving it on for even longer. It just sits at press any key to boot from cd with the cursor flashing. I dont press any key because I have already gone through the steps and windows has installed. It just doesn't seem to want to boot windows. The computer is not locked up as I can hit ctrk alt dl to restart it. The only thing I really changed was the hard drive. My sata drive crapped out and I put an old IDE drive in its place till I order a new one. THe dive is set up as a master with the cdrom as slave because I only have one IDE slot on the MB. Any suggestions?

Jumper both the CD and hard drive to Cable Select and make sure you are using an 80 wire Ultra ATA cable with the correct end on the motherboard. The other end goes on the hard drive and the middle connector goes on the CD drive.
