I'm not familiar with the application.
I've used nLite in the past, and I know that's kept up-to-date. You may want to check the website for autostreamer to make sure you have the newest version and that it supports slipstreaming SP3.

i found it
AutoPatcher's little brother, AutoStreamer, has gone final Although still unknown whether it will carry any neowin.net badges, at its current state, AutoStreamer works as a slipstreamer-only. Basically, all it really needs is a source (that being an original Windows CD or a local share) and a Service Pack file. Supported Operating Systems: - Windows 2000 (All versions) - Windows XP (All versions) - Windows 2003 (All versions) Supported Service Pack files: - Windows 2000: SP3 onwards (meaning you can't select a SP1/SP2 file as a service pack) - Windows XP: Any - Windows 2003: Any |

NOT advisable to slipstream SP3 yet. There's some issue with Windows Update - installing XP with a SP3 slipstreamed CD will break it. It has something to do with incompatible Windows Installer versions I think.
What you have to do for a successful install is this: Download the full admin SP3 install and save it to a CD or flash drive. Install XP SP2, do not turn on automatic updates. Do a manual Windows Update - it will install WGA, then install "updates to Windows Update". Keep doing it until you finally get to where it finds all the critical updates. Then cancel and install SP3 from the full admin install. Do not turn on automatic updates yet. Do manual Windows Updates till everything is up to date. Then turn automatic updates on. |

glc,
I heard that you weren't supposed to integrate XP SP2 and SP3 (something to do with uninstalling IE7), but I haven't heard anything about this. Have you any links to more info.May as well destroy my slipstreamed CD before I use it by accident. ![]() ![]() mickzer. |

On my slipstream from SP2/IE6 to SP3 IE7 wasn't installed by default. Even on a machine with SP2, IE6 and WMP10 Service Pack 3 will not upgrade them to IE7/WMP11 as it contains the updates but not the executables for them - at least that is my understanding and experience. Nor, did I have any issues getting Windows Updates.

SP3 Slipstream
I have been using a slipstream sp3 since sp3 went final and have not had any problems.
Although it doesn't come with ie7 or wmp11 you can use nLite and get both added. Or go to http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/ and follow their directions. |

I have ran into issue's just installing SP3 berfore installing some motherboard drivers. They wouldnt install right, HD real audio to be exact. (on 2 different motherboards too) Had to remove SP3, then install the drivers, then install SP3 again. I'm guessing a slipstream XP pro cd with SP3 would of done the same thing.
