Bllue Stop Screen 0x00008086
The attachment has my system information. I get the blue screen when I first startup. It usually happens after I first log on but I think it has also occurred immediately after after I get the Dell Logo. I have always been able to log on to Windows after rebooting. Sometimes it will not happen for as long as a week. Dell support has not been able to help. They have taken control of the computer, did a Bios and I think a drive update of my chipset. It was listed under Microsoft update software, Intel Application accelerator and the drive was R78496.
Also attached is my chipset and a current view of my desktop. To give a brief history. In early July I was unable to boot to anything but the Safe Mode. This occurred after my startup became slow and I restored my system to about two weeks earlier. I called Dell support and they took to computer back to the state it had been when purchased. I called many of my vendors and installed few programs. I had my data on an external hard drive. I cloned the C drive after installing a minimal number of programs. I replaced the existing drive with the clone. The clone was made by Acronis. The cloned drive is a 160GB Western Digital, Model WD1600AAJS. The old drive was a Maxtor 160GB. I purchased an external hard drive, a Maxtor 1TB drive, to backup up my C drive. Soon after connecting it to the computer, I started getting intermittent Blue stop screens. It would happen and startup when it was active and attached. I am not sure if it was the same code as in the title. After calling Dell support, I found that my computer cannot support any hard drives larger than 500GB. I returned the 1TB Maxtor and purchased a 500GB Maxtor. It has my current backups. However, I only keep it attached to the computer when I do a current backup and it has not been attached when I get the Blue screens. Also purchased from Dell last month was a new graphic card that was later updated when I called Dell support about the Blue Screen. The card is a GEFOURCE 8600. I also have installed a second internal hard drive but the Blue screen had already been occurring prior to this purchase. The second internal hard drive is a Western Digital also, WD500AAKS. It has been formated with MTFS. It is also attached. I have been thinking about putting the old drive back into the computer to see if I will get the Blue Screen. The stop Blue Screen has not occured after I have been loged onto Windows for more than two minutes. Last edited by coodbe; 08-05-2008 at 05:30 PM. |
