I am using Windows XP home with SP2 installed. Windows just release SP3? Is there any benefit in installing SP3? Should I wait awhile? I don't need Vista just yet. Please help. Thank you.

There is no harm in installing sp3.
Just make a backup of your important files before hand.

SP3 is stable. Go ahead and install it, reboot, then run windows updates to get the latest hotfixes. This was actually the most painless service pack install I've done in terms of not breaking anything.

yes, I have installed it on all the computers in the house, all went smoothly.
I have it saved on my sandisk stick so I don't have to download it to each one, just copy it over and install. bob WB7DMX |

Before installing SP3, you should do basic maintenance - malware scans, temp file removal, etc. It's also safer to install from the full admin download - it's about 300mb, you will need broadband.
