Standby problem
My computer has a new problem! If I try to go to standby , it beeps once , then completely shuts off and 2 or 3 seconds later restarts. I haven't got a clue what this is about ! The only thing I did recently was to download that Italian program that checks CPU temps.( Windows XP, Athlon xp 3000, FIC KT 748 MOBO, 1Gig memory)

Tried removing the app, but it's still doing the same nonsense!

Update! I did a system restore and now instead of shutting off and then restarting, it now beeps once then completely shuts down ( no fans, lights or any sound.) The only thing is when I press the enter button it restarts as if it was in standby. What's up ?

It's hibernating, not going into standby.

Explore all your power options in control panel.
