Slipstreaming SP3 is not recommended. There are documented issues with Windows Update. I'd use a SP2 CD and get the updates to Windows Update first, then install SP3 using the admin install.

Generic slipstream instructions:

glc,
Would a Win XP SP3 slipstreamed CD not be handy when doing a sfc /scannow ?

mickzer.

It would probably be fine for that - but it's not too good for doing a clean install. You also cannot use a Vista machine to create the slipstream, that breaks the licensing keys for some reason.
