Recovery disk used to just install xp?
Hey guys I just got a new custom build computer built up.
I lost my old computer because the HDD failed and decided to upgrade to a better computer. I bought a new hdd with notting in it. I have my old xp serial # and a few cds which are Hp Recovery disks from my old computer. Am I able to run those cd to install xp on my new built computer? |

No. I believe those are legally tied to the hp computer.
You would need to purchase a new os.

HP recovery disks may not be used on a custom build. You need to spend the 90 bucks for a new legal OS.

Nope. That's not legal either. The HP serial is only valid for the HP computer it shipped with.
