I need xp

hey guys if I purchase this product
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116056

will this install the full version of windows? or is there some kind of catch of why this product is under 100 bucks ? I just spend a ton of money on building a new computer...I want to find a cheap solution to run xp.

Yes; this will allow you to install the XP Home Edition. The catch is that's it is the Home Edition and can't be tranferred to another computer. You might want to read the reviews to get more information.

There is no "catch". This is an OEM version and for that you get no support from MS (but you can get support here!). The Retail version gets you a fancy box and the ability to legally transfer it to a new machine should you decide to upgrade, along with MS support. The OEM version gets you a disk with a Product Key for installation on one pc.

In reality, even a generic OEM like that can be transferred to a new machine later as long as you remove it from the original machine. It will *usually* reactivate fine as long as you don't do it often. It's not quite as restrictive as a major OEM recovery CD. I have a OEM XP here which is now on its 3rd machine. Strictly according to the EULA, this is a gray area but as long as the same key is not used on more than one machine at a time you are okay. This is no worse than using the well-publicized trick to doing a clean install using an upgrade version.

That is exactly what the $90 OEM version is for - people building their own computer.
