cannot create a new folder

Hi Gang

I cannot create a new folder in either of my HD's. I don't know how long this has been going on, that I have not noticed this. I really don't make that many new folders. I know at one time this worked. If you bring up you drive, and go to file all I have is 4 grayed out and close, and no new. I have checked several places for settings and every thing seems all right. I have clicked on several places that say to create a new folder and they don't work.

Any ideas will be appreciated...........Thanx...Gunny

Hi GLC

Thanx, when I go into the registry and follow the steps, I find I don't have that "Background folder" in the directory. So I also do not have the "new" folder. I cannot add the value. Now what do I do.? I have the automatic updates set.

Thanx....Gunny

Try going here:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Line 395 on left: Restore "New" Context Menu.

To use the Regedits: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

Hi Mickzer

ha ha you just took the words out of my mouth. That sure fixed it. My wife found it a little while ago. That put back in what I mentioned to GLC, the Background folder also. I did not have that before. So I could not do the correction right.

Thanx and take care....Gunny
