clean install of XPpro & flashing hourglass
Recently did a clean install of XPpro and Office '03. Did all the updates, etc. Now when I open Outlook and click on any item, the windows hourglass flashes, alternating with the pointer flashing. I can do what I need to do, but the flashing can't be normal. Think it is somehow related to the XP install?

GLC,
Yes, I've done all updates for both XP & Office. I have had a problem with updates. Not all have been installed as needed. I've had to search out the update and download/install directly. That's never been the case before. I checked with task manager and see that Outlook is using 88%-96% of CPU when just sitting on my desktop. I'm considering an office uninstall and then reinstall. |

GLC,
Just a quick follow-up. Seems that during the install, the OUTLOOK.PST file that the program reads/writes to was on my backup hd instaed of the C: drive. The hourglass was telling me that there was a constant movement of info between the drives. Just another wacked thing from MS. Thanks for your help. |
